Alice: “I…I hardly know, sir, just at present…at least I know who I was when I got up this morning, but I think I must have been changed several times since then.”*
This memorable phrase captured so well in the
Disney animated version of the book is immortalized by a breathy “Whooo … are … you?” provided with visual emphasis as exhalations of smoke form the shapes “O”, “R” and “U”.
Defining who you are has always been one of life’s trickier issues to pin down. At any given time you have to wear multiple hats and be multiple things to an ever-growing number of people.
Define who you are….are you just a name?
What is the value of that name? Do you know?
Can you answer that question these days?
Are you waiting for someone to give you the red or blue pill?
For companies, this identity crisis is more than illusionary, it’s a current reality that requires strategic thought and focused action. Defining your identity is a proven way to avoid those rabbit holes.
